Adventures in Azeroth Week 2
The damned creatures finally fell to the continued assault of magic and metal. Mikal looked back and saw the combined factions looking at them almost as if seeing him and his friends fight off the beasts had improved their opinion of him. Yet they don't come up here and help us fight do they? He thought to himself. The group moved further into the Citadel finding a row of enemies sitting there looking straight at him. He qucikly assessed them and charged in at one who looked like he was ready to throw spells right back at the mages and healers behind him. He struck the creature in just such a way that it was momentarily stunned. He felt his rage grow inside him and channeled it the way he had learned to his foot. He stomped down and lightning crackled in a circle around him injuring a group of the monsters. The caster in front of him dropped into a trance and started to cast a spell and Mikal swung his shield striking the fast perfectly to ruin the spell and prevent him from casting another for a few seconds.

The fighting had been fierce with giant skeletons on the wall breaking off and attacking people when they stepped in the wrong place on the floor, but they had won through and they stood there looking up at the humongous skeleton in the center of the next room floating there staring right back at them. Mikal wondered why he didn't attack but was just as happy that the creature gave them time to catch their breath. Suddenly the leader of the group raised his voice "ALL RIGHT EVERYONE HEAD BACK OUT THE FRONT DOOR".
Mikal turned to ones of the other guys who had been on the front line taking the heavy hits with him " Wait, what??" he asked.
The Night Elf turned to him, "You heard him, head out. This is a rep run we are doing"

HISTORIC MOMENTS IN AZEROTH
Mount technology discovered.
The three gnomes ran back and forth in the lab one brushing the sides of the tent every so often, tinkering with the two identical machines on the far end of the room from each other working hard at getting them ready for the test. The first gnome wore a special helmt and was clearly in charge he took a look around and felt all was ready. He whistled to the other two gnomes to tell them it was time. As soon as he finished his whistle he realized his error as his horse hobbled outside broke free and came charging to him as he stood right next to one of the platforms. The horse broke the wire connecting the two machines across the top of the tent and the Gnome grabbed the horses reins to keep from falling over. He still fell but the reins turned his fall and he crashed into the control panel hitting the activation button.
The machine whirred into action and there was a flash of light. When the light faded the horse had vanished and the gnome was left holding a pair of reins in his hand. A short argument ensued as to why the gnome would want to learn how to ride such a big and obnoxious animals especially since mechanostrider technology had advanced so that only every 5th one blew up in less than a month. That fight was followed by a long worried search for the horse wondering where it had vanished to since it had not appeared on the other pad as the prototype transporter was supposed to have it do.
Later that day after they had decided there was nowhere else to search the gnome sat holding the reins of his horse wishing that it was there. Suddenly the horse appeared out of nowhere attached to the rein as if it had never gone anywhere.
Thus was how the gnomes accidentally stumbled onto the technology that lead to current mount summoning system.

Weekly Series: Adventures in Azeroth (working title)
ADVENTURES IN AZEROTH
Mikal sat there looking up the long stairs the top of the battering ram visible sitting where the Argent Crusade had left it when they had finally managed to shatter the doors to the Citadel. The slight shaking from the proto-drake he was riding did nothing to stop the thoughts of what it had taken to get here after so long from welling up in his mind. All his battles up to now had been leading to this point when the Argent Crusade and Knights of the Ebon Blade would call heroes from around Azeroth to help take down the Lich King.
His mind started to drift back to his first battles back in Goldshire when he had fought against Kobolds insistant that the candle they had melts to the top of their skulls was important and that he could "NO TAKE CANDLE". HE chuckled at the thought, suddenly his proto-drake roared alerting him to danger and he leaped to the side in time just to miss one of the many gargoyles in the places striking him in the head.
His mount disappeared like always, though he wondered how the mages had come up with such a thing like he did every time it happened. He did not stop to ponder it though and quickly pulled out his gun and loaded a bullet. " Let's see how you like being target practice you stone-brained bastard."
He aimed carefully and pulled the trigger and the Gargoyle's head burst into a cloud of dust. He tossed the gun over his shoulder. "That will show you who to me--- Oh crap!!" His snide commented interrupted by the stone body falling right at him he jumped aside getting a scrape along his recently repaired boots. Looking at the scrape he went over to the body. "They charged me ten gold to fix those you lump of stone" He kicked the corpse with the toe of the scuffed boot adding another dent to the end of the boot. Out of habit he bent over the body to see if it had anything on it, he managed to find a Healing potion, somehow undamaged and some scraps of fur. He had long since given up trying to figure out where on the solid stone body the items had been, much less how the potion bottle had not broken. He then turned and walked up the stairs to meet up with his friends to try and tackle the challenges awaiting inside the Citadel.

The entance to the Citadel was held firmly, by the combined forces of the Argnet Crusade, Knights of the Ebon Blade, and a new group that had appeared to help battle the Lich King, calling themselves the Ashen Verdict. A chill seeped into his bones and Mikal knew that he would not be as quick to dodge the strikes of his enemies, but this was something he had to do. He looked down the hall in front of him and saw a group of skeleton with bones jutting all over being fought off by various defenders preventing them from getting to the forces at the door.
Only a few of the others arrived so he went over and found one of the Argent Crusade blacksmiths. "Hey, I got attacked outside and my boots got damaged, you have time to fix them up?"
"Sure, let me see them." Mikal took off the boot and handed it to him. "Hmmmmm... Nice and sturdy, worked some good magic into them too. Not badly damaged either should not be too hard. That will cost 5 gold."
"Seriously !!! They are barely dented." Mikal shook his head knowing the blacksmith would not budge and handed over the 5 gold. He got them back just as the rest of the group arrived and they gathered up and headed into the Citadel, beyond the relative safety of the firmly held camp.

WOW Fanfic: Preview
Hello. I know I have not done much of anything, but I hope to change that soon. I am planning to start a large and expansive Fanfic to be based on the characters I play in World of Warcraft. NOTE: Warcraft is trademark and copywrighted by Blizzard
Is that a good disclaimer? I don't know, but until blizzard asks me to fix it or remove my story it will have to do.
Choices
The story will span the entirety of the Warcraft timeline (well the part that concerns the games) although I might have to go back and change some things as I figure out the details of what falls where. And will follow the story of one family as seen through the eyes of twin brothers Mikal and Mykul.
After losing their father and home with the fall of Stormwind, the (thinking of a last name but don't have it yet) brothers join up with Lothar and the Alliance Army, split during the fighting the two brothers come to view very different ways of protecting their family. As the scourge swarms down upon Lordaeran the chance for them to reconcile seems bleak and yet they are on their way to a destined meeting in the cold of Northrend.
I must stop here but I plan to cme back and edit this more, but it is 3:30 am and I need to get to sleep

An Auspicious Day
"Greetings my fellow americans. Today is an auspicious day. The event we have been waiting for has finally come. Many thought that it would never happen, a hundred years ago no one even considered it possible. There were inklings back in the 60s during the rights movements.
Later today the United States will innaugurate a new president that is different from any other president before him. Great strides in this happened about 1000 years when Barack Obama became the first black president, despite the assassination attempt that was linked to his VP Biden, he served a full two terms. The elction of a woman next may be what helped our survival through the turmoil of the next few years and allowed for the expansion to the United states of the Americas we know today.
Wait, What what do you mean? You mean this is going to TWO thouand and nine? Not 3009, so the invasion doesn't even happen for another ten years, how could you let me read the speech for the wrong millenium. CUT THE FEED.
